Q. How long has Frick’s Driving School been in business?
A. We CELEBRATED our 50th Year in 2010! During that time we’ve helped thousands of students learn to drive.
Q. Is the Driving School state certified and approved?
A. Yes. Our school is certified by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, the Department of Education and the National Safety Council
for Defensive Driving.
Q. Who can attend Driving School?
A. Anyone 15 years of age and older. (State Law)
Q. How long does Driving School take?
A. During the school year, it takes 3 or 3 1/2 weeks. Two and three-week sessions are available during the summer.
Q. What are school hours?
A. Hours during the school year are: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Summer hours are Monday through
Friday 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. But, please call to verify class times as they may vary.
Q. How much time is spent in a classroom?
A. You’ll spend 30 hours in class.
Q. How much time will I spend actually driving?
A. Each student spends six hours on the road.
Q. Can I get my driver’s license sooner by completing driving school?
A. Yes. If you’re 15, you can get your license up to three months sooner.
Q. What kind of car will I drive in school?
A. Because we try to give you experience with different types of vehicles, late model compact, mid-size and utility vehicles may be
available for road work.
Q. Will I drive an automatic or straight shift?
A. We believe you should have experience on both. However, you may choose to drive only an automatic if you wish.
Q. Will I get a discount on my insurance for attending?
A. Usually. This depends on your insurance company, so you may want to check with your agent.
Q. What does it cost, and do I have to pay in advance?
A. Total cost for the 30 class hours and 6 driving hours is $450.00 We ask for $250. down on the first day and the balance is due by the end of the class.
SAVE $25.00 if you pay in full on or before the first day of class, therefore making the total cost $425.00!!
Q. Where is Fricks Driving School?
A. Our address is 535 West Edison Road. We’re across the street from St. Andrew’s Plaza between Hickory and Grape Roads.
Q. How can I get there?
A. You will need to provide your own transportation for classroom times. For your convenience, we are on the Transpo bus line.
Q. How do I sign up?
A. Call 574-256-0650 and give us your name and address. Or come to our office between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
